Brake cable with black housing

The kit combines an inner metal cable with a barrel end and a black outer housing. It is designed for mechanical brakes where the lever moves the brake caliper via the cable.

Before choosing, measure the existing housing and cable separately and compare the ends. The length must allow for full handlebar rotation and normal suspension operation without the brake engaging automatically.

Smooth pull and proper adjustment

• Replace the cable system if there is frayed wire, corrosion, damaged housing, or sticking. Check that the brake lever and caliper mechanism return freely.
• Route the cable along the existing path, properly seat the ends of the housing, and adjust the tension at the caliper. Cut the cable only after verifying the length and finish with a crimp cap.
• Check the braking, free wheel rotation, and sufficient slack when turning the handlebars. Re-check the adjustment after initial use as the cable may settle.
