Brake compound

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads if braking performance drops, wear is uneven, or they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake instructions.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Following the procedure for your specific caliper, prepare space for the new pads, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel spin and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area without locking the wheel.
