Before replacing, compare the width and height of the pad, the mounting tab, and the position of the safety pin. Install the ceramic pair with the appropriate spreader spring and bed them in after adjusting the brake.

Friction material

The ceramic compound forms the friction surface of the pads. After installation, gradually bed in the new pair to ensure even contact with the disc. Keep the surface clean and dry; oil or grease on the friction surface reduces braking efficiency.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads if braking is poor, uneven wear is present, or if they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in your brake manual.
• Remove the retaining pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for the new pads according to your caliper procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retaining pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check the free movement of the wheel and the lever function. Bed in the new pads by performing several gradual decelerations in a safe location without locking the wheel.
