Brake compound

A full-metal compound is suitable for compatible discs that allow metal pads. It withstands higher thermal loads well; compared to organic pads, it may be louder and wear out the disc more. After installing the brake, break in the new pair gradually.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads if braking performance decreases, wear is uneven, or they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the brake manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, new pair, and safety pin. Do not apply grease to friction surfaces.
• Check the wheel's free spin and lever operation. Break in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
