Brake lining

Full-metallic linings are suitable for compatible discs that allow metallic pads. They handle higher heat loads well, though they may be noisier and wear down the disc more quickly compared to organic pads. After adjusting the brake, properly bed in the new pair.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads if you experience reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check your brake manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
• Remove the split pin and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the split pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel movement and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, avoiding wheel lock-up.
