Brake pad compound

The ULIP Superior Metal compound combines metallic ingredients and a binder. Metallic pads generally handle heat well during repetitive braking but can be louder and cause more disc wear than organic pads. Use a disc that allows for metallic pads and ensure you properly break them in after installation.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads if braking performance decreases, wear is uneven, or they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the retaining pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the pin. Do not apply grease to the friction surfaces.
• Check the wheel's free movement and the lever feel. Break in the new pads by performing several gradual stops in a safe area without locking the wheel.
