8.5x3 Road Tire

Choosing a high-quality, suitable tire is crucial for safe riding and optimal scooter performance.

Choose the right tire type

Standard

A standard tire offers excellent performance on asphalt roads, city streets, and other hard surfaces. Ideal for daily riding. Models such as the ECO Speed 9, ECO Speed 8 (front 2021), and Vsett 8 (front) are equipped with this tire.

Road

A road tire has a flatter and wider profile than the standard version, which provides a different feel while riding. It performs excellently on paved surfaces and works better on compacted gravel paths. Ideal for daily riding. Models such as the Vsett 9 and Vsett 9+ are equipped with this tire.

Preventing flat tires

The most common cause of flat tires is riding with incorrect inner tube pressure. Most electric scooters require at least 3.5 bar, which should be checked regularly with a gauge – ideally once a week.

Riding with inadequate pressure can cause:

• Damage and punctures to the inner tube
• Wear of the tire from both the inside and the outside
• Reduced grip and increased risk of slipping
• Longer braking distances
• Poor handling

Since the inner tube valves on e-scooters are difficult to access, we offer a valve extension that makes inflating much easier.

Service information

Replace the tire as soon as you notice poor handling, reduced grip, vibrations, or visible wear. With normal use, replacement is recommended every 1,000 – 2,000 kilometers.

Visible signs of tire wear

Outer side: Flat tread, burns, or holes. Normal riding causes wear; tricks or aggressive braking accelerate it.

Inner side: Detachment of the wire structure, often due to incorrect tire pressure.

Incorrect installation of the inner tube or tire can cause:

• Damage to motor cables
• Damage to the motor frame
• Sharp cuts on the rim
• Damage to the tire and new inner tube

When replacing a punctured tire, always check both the tire and the inner tube. A damaged tire will shorten the lifespan of any new inner tube.
