The 30 × 17 mm measurement refers to the friction surface, not the overall outline. Before replacing, check the installed caliper and the position of the mounting tabs, especially on vehicles with upgraded brakes.

Brake compound

The semi-metallic compound combines metal particles and a resin binder. The blend represents a compromise between initial bite and resistance to thermal stress. For even braking, a clean disc and a gradual bedding-in of the new pair are important.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect pads for poor braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. After the procedure for your specific caliper, prepare space for the new pads, then insert the spring, new pair, and safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check the free rotation of the wheel and the operation of the lever. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
