The 30 × 17 mm specification refers to the friction surface, not the entire outline. Before replacing, check the installed caliper and the position of the mounting tabs, especially on vehicles with aftermarket brake upgrades.

Brake lining

Semi-metallic linings combine metal particles and a resin binder. This compound strikes a balance between initial bite and heat resistance. For even braking, a clean disc and proper break-in of the new pair are important.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads if you experience reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check your brake manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
• Remove the split pin and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the split pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel movement and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, avoiding wheel lock-up.
