The 30 × 17 mm dimension refers to the friction surface, not the entire outline. Before replacement, check the installed caliper and the position of the mounting tabs, especially for vehicles with upgraded brakes.

Brake pad composition

The semi-metallic lining combines metal particles and a resin binder. The mixture represents a compromise between initial bite and resistance to thermal load. For uniform braking, a clean disc and gradual bedding-in of the new pair are important.

When to replace and how to begin

• Inspect pads if braking performance drops, wear is uneven, or contamination occurs. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the locking pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the locking pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area without locking the wheel.
