The 30202 tapered roller bearing consists of an inner ring with a cage and rollers, and a separable outer ring. Together, they form a bearing assembly for the appropriate steering head. The separable design allows for the installation of the outer ring and the inner assembly in the intended sequence.

Inspection and installation

• First, check for play, binding, or rough movement along with the steering assembly adjustment. Replace a bearing with worn raceways together with its outer ring.
• Clean the seat, check the contact surfaces, and observe the prescribed lubrication. When pressing in, apply force to the ring being inserted, without hitting the rollers.
• After assembly, adjust the preload according to the vehicle instructions. The handlebar must move smoothly, without play; excessive tightening does not eliminate wear.
