Brake lining

The multi-metal ULIP Superior Metal lining combines metallic components and a binder. Metal linings generally handle heat well during repetitive braking, but they can be noisier and wear down the disc more than organic ones. Use a disc that allows metal linings and correctly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to begin

• Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake instructions.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check the free rotation of the wheel and the operation of the lever. Bed in the new pads with several gradual slows in a safe place, without locking the wheel.
