The 2.5 m long and 1.5 mm diameter inner brake cable transmits the pull from the brake lever to the mechanical brake. It features a 7 × 7 mm cylindrical end at one side.

The end piece must sit correctly in the lever, and the cable must slide smoothly through the housing. Cut the cable to length only after installing and adjusting the brake; secure the cut end with an end cap.

Smooth operation and correct adjustment

• Replace the cable system if the wire is frayed, corroded, the housing is damaged, or if it binds. Check that the brake lever and caliper mechanism return freely.
• Route the cable along the existing path, ensure the cable housing ends are properly seated, and adjust the tension at the caliper. Cut the cable only after verifying the length and secure it with an end cap.
• Check braking, wheel spin, and verify sufficient slack when turning the handlebar. Re-check the adjustment after initial use as the cable system may settle.
