Choosing a high-quality and suitable tire is key to safe riding and maximizing the potential of your e-scooter.

In the eVolt service network, we have tested numerous tire brands and selected only those that perform best on Xiaomi electric scooters, as they use the highest quality rubber material.

Based on our own experience and customer feedback, we trust CST tires, which have proven to be the most durable and of highest quality. In fact, Xiaomi uses the same CST tire brand for its e-scooters.

Preventing flat tires

The most common cause of flat tires is riding with the wrong inner tube pressure. Most electric scooters require at least 3.5 bar, which should be checked regularly with a pressure gauge – ideally once a week.

Riding with improper pressure can cause:

• Inner tube damage and punctures
• Tire wear inside and out
• Poor grip and increased risk of slipping
• Longer braking distances
• Poor handling characteristics

Service information

Replace the tire as soon as you notice poor handling, reduced grip, vibrations, or visible signs of wear. With normal use, tires should be replaced every 1,000 – 2,000 km.

Visible signs of tire wear that require replacement

Outer side: Smoothed tread, friction marks, or holes. Regular riding causes wear; stunts or aggressive braking speed it up.
Inner side: Cord structure detachment, often due to riding with incorrect pressure.

Improper installation of the inner tube or tire can cause:

• Motor cable damage
• Motor housing damage
• Sharp cuts on the rim
• Damage to both the tire and the new inner tube

When changing a flat tire, always inspect both the inner tube and the outer tire. A damaged tire will quickly destroy a new inner tube.
