Preventing flat tires

The most common cause of "flat tires" is riding with the incorrect tire pressure. Most electric scooters require at least 3.5 bar, which should be regularly checked with a pressure gauge – ideally once a week.

Riding with improper inner tube pressure can cause:

• Inner tube damage and punctures
• Tire wear from both inside and outside
• Poor grip and increased risk of slipping
• Longer braking distances
• Poor riding characteristics

Service information

The tire must be replaced as soon as you notice signs of poor riding performance, reduced grip, vibration, or visible wear. Under normal use, replacement is recommended every 1,000 – 2,000 km.

Visible signs of tire wear that require replacement

Outer side: Flat tread, burn marks, or holes. Regular riding causes normal wear; tricks or aggressive braking accelerate it.
Inner side: Separation of the wire structure, often caused by riding with incorrect tire pressure.

Unprofessional replacement of inner tubes or tires can cause:

• Damage to the motor cable
• Damage to the motor frame
• Sharp cuts on the rim
• Damage to the tire and the new inner tube

If you have a "flat tire" or a worn-out tire on your electric scooter, you must check the condition of both the inner tube and the tire during replacement, as incorrect pressure often damages both. In a scooter with a damaged tire, a new inner tube will have a very limited lifespan.
