The 30 × 17 mm specification refers to the friction surface, not the overall outline. Before replacing, verify the installed caliper and the position of the mounting tabs, especially on vehicles with upgraded brakes.

Brake lining

The semi-metallic lining combines metal particles and resin binder. This mixture represents a compromise between initial bite and thermal load resistance. For even braking, a clean disc and gradual bedding-in of the new pair are important.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads in case of poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum permitted thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to the procedure for your specific caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel rotation and brake lever operation. Bed in the new pads by performing several gradual slowdowns in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
