The orange ULIP Superior Metal pads feature a rectangular friction surface, a security hole, and a side hook. This semi-metallic design is intended for the compatible Xtech brake caliper.

Compare the outline of the removed pad and the caliper marking. For a vehicle with an upgraded brake, the installed Xtech unit is relevant, as the stock brake may use a different pair. Spring and safety cotter pin included.

Valid when upgrading to the compatible Xtech HB100 caliper. Not an automatic replacement for original pads of all versions of this model.

Brake pad composition

The ULIP Superior Metal semi-metallic compound combines metallic ingredients and a binder. Generally, metal pads handle heating from repetitive braking well, but they can be noisier and wear the disc more than organic ones. Use a disc that allows metal pads, and properly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect pads in case of poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Change both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the safety clip and the old pair. Following the procedure for your specific caliper, prepare space for the new pads, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety clip. Do not grease friction surfaces.
• Check wheel clearance and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe location, without locking the wheel.
