The orange ULIP Superior Metal pads feature a rectangular friction area, an opening for a retaining pin, and a side hook. The multi-metallic design is intended for the compatible Xtech brake caliper.

Compare the outline of the removed pad and the caliper designation. For a vehicle with an upgraded brake, the installed Xtech unit is crucial, as the stock brake may use a different pair. A spring and safety cotter pin are included.

Applies when upgrading to a compatible Xtech HB100 caliper. Not an automatic replacement for original pads of all versions of this model.

Brake lining

The ULIP Superior Metal multi-metallic lining combines metallic components and a binder. Metallic linings generally handle heat from repeated braking well, but they can be louder and cause more disc wear than organic ones. Use a disc that allows metallic pads and properly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the retainer and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retainer. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe location, without locking the wheel.
