Superior Metal with a characteristic Xtech side hook

Orange ULIP Superior Metal pads feature a rectangular friction area, a hole for the locking pin, and a side hook. The semi-metallic design is intended for the corresponding Xtech brake caliper.

Approximate dimensions

Compare the outline of the removed pad and the caliper mark. For a vehicle with an upgraded brake, the installed Xtech unit is important, as the stock brake may use a different pair. A spring and a safety cotter pin are included.

Valid when upgrading to the appropriate Xtech HB100 caliper. Not an automatic replacement for original pads of all versions of this model.

Brake compound

The ULIP Superior Metal semi-metallic compound combines metal components and a binder. Metallic pads generally handle heat well during repetitive braking, but they can be louder and cause more disc wear than organic ones. Use a disc that allows metallic pads and properly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads if braking performance drops, wear is uneven, or contamination occurs. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the brake manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
• Remove the locking pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for the new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the locking pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for wheel clearance and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe location, without locking the wheel.
