The orange backing plates have a round friction surface, a narrow extended tab, and a rectangular opening. The ceramic pads are complemented by a flat spring that is placed between them.

The round friction zone is complemented by the top tab and bottom notch. Compare the outline with the old pair; the separator spring must sit correctly and keep both pads away from the disc.

Brake lining

The ceramic compound forms the friction surface of the pads. For even contact with the disc, bed in the new pair gradually after installation. Keep the lining clean and dry; oil or grease on the friction surface will reduce braking performance.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads if braking performance decreases, wear is uneven, or they are contaminated. Change both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
• Following the mechanical caliper manual, remove the old pair and release the adjustment for the new pads. Install both pads and the separator spring, then adjust the clearance by the disc. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual slowdowns in a safe place, without locking the wheel.
