Brake pad material

Full-metal pads are suitable for compatible discs that allow metal pads. They handle high thermal loads well, but may be louder and cause more wear to the disc compared to organic pads. After adjusting the brake, gradually bed in the new pair.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads if you notice reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Always replace both pads in the same caliper; check your brake manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
• Remove the retaining clip and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to the procedure for your specific caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the clip. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe location, without locking the wheel.
