Brake pad material

The full-metal compound is suitable for compatible discs that allow metal pads. It handles higher thermal loads well, but may be noisier and cause more disc wear than organic pads. After adjusting the brake, gradually bed in the new pair.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect pads if braking performance decreases, wear is uneven, or they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the brake manufacturer's manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, new pair, and safety pin. Do not apply grease to friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel movement and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
