Full-metal NUTT pads with cooling fins

The pair of full-metal NUTT brake pads features black carriers with distinct cooling fins. Metal particles in the resin binder form the friction surface, and the fins increase the surface area for heat dissipation. The included spring and retainer hold the pads in the appropriate caliper.

Before replacing, compare the overall outline, the opening for the retainer, and the clearance above the caliper. The finned carrier requires sufficient clearance from the caliper and other parts of the brake assembly.

Brake lining

The full-metal lining combines metal particles and resin binder. The mixture represents a compromise between initial bite and heat load resistance. A clean disc and gradual bedding-in of the new pair are important for uniform braking.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads if braking performance decreases, or if there is uneven wear or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake instructions.
• Remove the retainer and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads following the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retainer. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual slowdowns in a safe place, without locking the wheel.
