The 30 × 17 mm value refers to the friction surface, not the entire outline. Before replacement, check the installed caliper and the position of the mounting lugs, especially in vehicles with upgraded brakes.

Brake compound

The semi-metallic compound combines metal particles and a resin binder. The mixture represents a compromise between initial bite and resistance to thermal stress. A clean disc and gradual bedding-in of the new pair are important for even braking.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake instructions.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check the free rotation of the wheel and the operation of the lever. Bed in the new pads with multiple gradual slow-downs in a safe place, without locking the wheel.
