Wide ULIP sintered pads with ZEE M640 shape

The ULIP Sintered pair features bronze-colored holders, a wide friction lining, and two top mounting tabs. The entire outline of the pad measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The opening for the safety pin has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and split pin are included. Before choosing, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of the existing pads, especially for bicycles with different model years.

Compatibility condition: Shimano BR-MT420 caliper installed. Also compare the shape of the D01S/D02S/D03S family of pads.

Brake lining

Sintered metal lining generally handles heating and wear in wet conditions well. Compared to organic, it can be noisier and wear out the disc more. Use a disc that allows for metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the safety device and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety device. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check free wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual slowdowns in a safe place, without locking the wheel.
