Brake lining

The ULIP Superior Metal multi-metal lining combines metallic components and a binder. Metallic linings generally handle heat well during repetitive braking, but they may be louder and wear out the disc more than organic ones. Use a disc that allows metal linings, and properly bed-in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check the free rotation of the wheel and the operation of the lever. Bed-in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
