Front brake cable with 1.8 mm wire

The set for a mechanical front brake includes an approximately 142 cm long inner wire and a 125 cm long housing. The inner wire diameter is 1.8 mm, and the outer diameter of the housing is approximately 5.3 mm.

The thicker wire must match the lever and the caliper mounting. Before cutting, check the cable routing at the extreme left and right handlebar positions and leave enough slack for adjustments.

Smooth pull and proper adjustment

• Replace the cable set if there is a frayed wire, corrosion, damaged housing, or sticking. Check whether the brake lever and caliper mechanism return freely.
• Route the wire along the existing path, properly seat the ends of the housing, and adjust the tension at the caliper. Cut it only after verifying the length and finish with a cap.
• Check the braking, free rotation of the wheel, and ensure enough slack when turning the handlebars. After initial use, check the adjustment, as the cable set may settle.
