Brake Compound

A ceramic compound forms the friction surface of the pads. To ensure even contact with the disc, bed in the new pair gradually after installation. Keep the pads clean and dry; oil or grease on the friction surface will reduce braking performance.

When to Replace and How to Start

• Inspect the pads if you notice poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in your brake manual.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Following the procedure for your specific caliper, prepare the space for the new pads, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not lubricate the friction surfaces.
• Check the free rotation of the wheel and the operation of the brake lever. Bed in the new pads by performing several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheels.
