Brake compound

A ceramic compound forms the friction surface of these pads. To ensure even contact with the disc, bed in the new pair gradually after installation. Keep the pads clean and dry; oil or grease on the friction surface will reduce braking performance.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads if you notice poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check your brake manual for the minimum allowable thickness.
• Remove the retaining pin and the old pair. Prepare the brake caliper for new pads according to the procedure, then insert the spring, the new pad pair, and the retaining pin. Do not apply grease to the friction surfaces.
• Check for wheel drag and brake lever function. Bed in the new pads by performing several gradual decelerations in a safe location, avoiding wheel lock-up.
