Brake pad material

The ceramic compound forms the friction surface of the pads. After installation, gradually bed in the new pair to ensure even contact with the disc. Keep the surface clean and dry; oil or grease on the friction surface reduces braking performance.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect pads if braking is poor, wear is uneven, or if they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check your brake manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
• Remove the retaining pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for the new pads according to the procedure for your specific caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel movement and lever operation. Bed in the new pads by performing multiple gradual decelerations in a safe location without locking the wheel.
