The wide green brake pads feature a rectangular friction surface and a top mounting tab for a safety pin. The pair of ceramic pads comes with a spreader spring and a cotter pin.

Brake pad compound

The ceramic compound forms the friction surface of the pads. To ensure even contact with the disc, bed in the new pair gradually after installation. Keep the pads clean and dry; oil or grease on the friction surface will reduce braking performance.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads if you experience reduced braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum thickness in your brake manual.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare the housing for the new pads according to the procedure for your specific caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for wheel clearance and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual stops in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
