Brake compound

The ULIP Superior Metal multi-metal compound combines metallic components with a binder. Generally, metal pads handle heat well during repetitive braking, but they may be noisier and cause more rotor wear than organic pads. Use a rotor compatible with metal pads and properly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect pads if braking performance decreases, uneven wear occurs, or if they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the brake manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe location, without locking the wheel.
