Brake lining

The ULIP Superior Metal semi-metallic lining combines metallic components and a binder. Metallic linings generally handle heat well during repetitive braking, but they can be noisier and cause more disc wear than organic ones. Use a disc compatible with metallic pads, and properly bed-in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads in case of poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the retaining pin and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retaining pin. Do not apply grease to the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed-in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
