Superior Metal in wide ZOOM shape

ULIP Superior Metal brake pads feature an orange back plate, a wide rectangular braking surface, and a top mounting tab. This metallic compound version is supplied as a pair with a tension spring and a cotter pin.

Brake pad compound

The ULIP Superior Metal metallic compound combines metal components and a binder. Metallic pads generally handle heat from repeated braking well, but may be louder and wear the disc more than organic ones. Ensure your disc is compatible with metallic pads, and properly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Always replace both pads in the same caliper; check your brake manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
  • Remove the retaining pin and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to the procedure for your specific caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retaining pin. Do not apply grease to friction surfaces.
  • Check the free rotation of the wheel and the brake lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual stops in a safe area, avoiding wheel lock-up.
