Superior Metal in wide ZOOM format

The ULIP Superior Metal brake pads feature an orange backing, a wide rectangular friction surface, and a top mounting ear. The multi-metal version is supplied as a pair with a tension spring and cotter pin.

Only for an installed brake caliper with the ZOOM pad shape specified for this product. Before selection, be sure to compare the old pad; the same vehicle model may be equipped with a different caliper.

Brake pad compound

The multi-metal compound ULIP Superior Metal combines metal components and a binder. Metal pads generally handle heating during repeated braking well, but they can be noisier and cause more wear on the disc than organic ones. Use a disc that allows metal pads and properly break in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect pads in case of poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the cotter pin and the old pair. After following the procedure for your specific caliper, prepare space for the new pads, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the cotter pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check the free rotation of the wheel and the operation of the lever. Break in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe location without locking the wheel.
