The 30 × 17 mm specification refers to the friction surface, not the overall outline. Before replacing, check the installed caliper and the position of the mounting tabs, especially for vehicles with upgraded brakes.

Brake pad material

The semi-metallic compound combines metal particles and a resin binder. This mixture represents a compromise between initial bite and thermal resistance. A clean disc and the gradual bedding-in of the new pair are important for smooth braking.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect pads if braking performance decreases, or if there is uneven wear or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowable thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel movement and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe location, without locking the wheel.
