Brake pad liner

The semi-metallic liner combines metal particles with resin binder. The compound represents a compromise between initial bite and resistance to thermal stress. For even braking, a clean disc and gradual bedding-in of the new pair are important.

When to replace and how to get started

• Inspect the pads if braking performance decreases, uneven wear occurs, or if there is contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check your brake manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
• Remove the retaining clip and the old pair. Following the procedure for your specific caliper, prepare the space for new pads, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retaining clip. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check that the wheel spins freely and verify brake lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual stops in a safe area without locking the wheel.
