Brake lining

Sintered metal linings generally handle heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic, they can be noisier and cause more disc wear. Ensure your disc is compatible with metal pads.

When to replace and how to get started

• Inspect pads if braking performance decreases, wear is uneven, or they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum thickness in the brake manufacturer's manual.
• Remove the retaining pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the pin. Do not grease friction surfaces.
• Check wheel clearance and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual stops in a safe area, without locking the wheels.
