Wide ULIP sintered brake pads with ZEE M640 shape

The ULIP Sintered pair has bronze-colored backplates, a wide friction compound, and top mounting tabs. The overall contour of the pad measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The opening for the safety pin has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and a cotter pin are included. Before selecting, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of existing pads, especially for bicycles with different model years of equipment.

Compatibility condition: Shimano BR-MT420 caliper installed. Compare also with the shape of the D01S/D02S/D03S family pads.

Brake compound

Sintered metal compounds generally handle heating and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic, they may be louder and wear the disc more. Use a disc that is compatible with metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect brake pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check your brake manual for the minimum permitted thickness.
  • Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Follow the procedure for your specific brake caliper to prepare space for the new pads, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check for free wheel movement and lever operation. Break in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe location, without locking the wheel.
