Brake lining

The ULIP Superior Metal semi-metallic lining combines metallic components and a binding agent. Metal linings generally handle heat well under repeated braking, but they can be noisier and wear the disc more than organic ones. Use a disc that allows metal linings and correctly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel rotation and brake lever function. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area without locking the wheel.
