Superior Metal in wide ZOOM shape

The ULIP Superior Metal brake pads feature an orange backplate, a wide rectangular lining, and an upper mounting lug. The metallic compound design is supplied as a pair with a spreader spring and cotter pin.

Brake lining

The ULIP Superior Metal metallic compound combines metallic components and a binder. Metallic linings generally handle heat from repeated braking well, but they can be noisier and wear the disc more than organic ones. Use a disc that allows for metallic linings, and properly bed-in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads if braking performance decreases, or in case of uneven wear or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake's manual.
  • Remove the safety clip and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to the procedure for your specific caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety clip. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check for free wheel rotation and brake lever operation. Bed-in the new pads with several gradual slows in a safe place, without locking the wheel.
