The round friction area is complemented by an upper tab and a lower notch. Compare the outline with your old pair; the separation spring must seat correctly and keep both pads away from the disc.

Brake pad compound

Ceramic compound forms the friction surface of the pads. To ensure even contact with the disc, bed in the new pair gradually after installation. Keep the pads clean and dry; oil or grease on the friction surface will reduce braking power.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads when braking performance degrades, wear is uneven, or they become contaminated. Always replace both pads in the same caliper; check the manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
• Following the mechanical caliper instructions, remove the old pair and back off the setting for the new pads. Install both pads and the separation spring, then adjust the clearance to the disc. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel movement and lever operation. Bed in the new pads by performing several gradual slow-downs in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
