Compare the outline, side hook position, and retaining clip opening with the removed pads. The spring must sit correctly between the pads to keep them away from the disc.

Brake lining

The ceramic compound forms the friction surface of the pads. Bed in the new pair gradually after installation for even contact with the disc. Keep the lining clean and dry; oil or grease on the friction surface will reduce braking performance.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the retaining clip and the old pair. Following the procedure for your caliper, prepare space for the new pads, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retaining clip. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
