Front brake cable with housing

The black brake cable assembly combines an inner cable with a length of approximately 138 cm and a housing with a length of 123 cm. At the end of the cable, there is a cylindrical barrel nut for a compatible mechanical brake lever.

The inner wire diameter is approximately 1.5 mm, and the housing diameter is 4.9 mm. Distinguish between the two lengths: a sufficiently long inner wire cannot replace an housing that is too short when turning the handlebars.

Smooth pull and proper adjustment

• Replace the cable assembly if the wire is frayed, corroded, the housing is damaged, or if there is binding. Ensure that the brake lever and caliper mechanism return freely.
• Route the cable along the existing path, correctly seat the housing ends, and adjust the tension at the caliper. Cut it only after verifying the length and finish with a cable end cap.
• Check braking, free wheel rotation, and sufficient slack when turning the handlebars. Re-check the adjustment after initial use, as the cable system may settle.
