Ignition switch with red two-pin connector

The unit with a black housing combines a circular mount for the handlebar and an ignition cylinder. Two keys allow for operation, and the red two-pin connector enables connection to the appropriate wiring.

The mounting diameter is approximately 22.5 mm, with a cable length of 137 mm. Compare the number of contacts, polarity or wiring, and the position of the keyhole. The three-pin version requires a different electrical connection.

Replacement and function test

• Before replacing, disconnect the vehicle's power supply. Note the connection and install the new switch in the same intended location without pinching the wiring.
• Check that the buttons or the key work without sticking and that the connector is properly engaged. The handlebar must rotate without straining the cable.
• Test each function individually before riding. When cutting the ignition, check the connector and wiring as well, as the fault may not necessarily be in the switch itself.
