The brake caliper transfers the cable pull through an external lever to the brake pad. The black housing is mounted on the mounting bracket and has a cable housing adjustment.

The mounting hole spacing of the bracket is approximately 51 mm. The front or rear position depends on the specific model in this post. Compare the lever direction, cable path, and disc position before choosing a replacement.

Mechanical brake adjustment

• Replace the caliper if it is damaged or its mechanism cannot be adjusted correctly. Worn pads or a bent disc do not necessarily mean the caliper is faulty.
• Align it with the disc on the appropriate adapter, connect the cable, and adjust the pad position and lever travel according to the instructions. Tighten the bolts to the prescribed torque.
• The brake must engage before the lever touches the handlebar. Check the mechanism return, wheel free spin, and gradual bedding in of the new pads.
