Dual friction area for a suitable Magura caliper

Each black backing plate has two separate friction areas and an extended top tab. This shape is intended for a suitable Magura MT5, MT5e, or MT7 caliper.

  • Model: Stevens E-Caprile 45 Gent.
  • Black backing plates with two separate friction surfaces on each.
  • Shape for Magura MT5/MT7.

Before choosing, check the actual brake on the vehicle. The pads fit the specified caliper shape even with an appropriate upgrade, but are not an automatic replacement for original brake pads of another brand.

Only for Magura MT5, MT5e, or MT7 calipers with the corresponding pad shape. If the vehicle has a different caliper, these pads are not a direct replacement.

Brake pad material

The friction material presses against the disc, and the backing plate holds it in the correct position in the caliper. Replace both pads together if they are worn, damaged, or contaminated with oil. During installation, also check the retaining pin and wheel rotation.

When to replace and how to start

  • Check pads in case of poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Change both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the retaining pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the pin. Do not grease friction surfaces.
  • Check wheel rotation and brake lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
