Superior Metal in wide ZOOM shape

The ULIP Superior Metal brake pads have an orange backing, a wide rectangular lining, and a top mounting ear. The metal-based version is supplied as a pair with a spreader spring and a cotter pin.

Only for installed brake calipers with the ZOOM pad shape specified for this product. Before selecting, you must compare the old pad; the same vehicle model may be equipped with a different caliper.

Brake lining

The ULIP Superior Metal-based lining combines metallic components and a binder. Metal pads generally handle heat well during repeated braking, but they can be louder and wear down the disc more than organic ones. Use a disc that allows for metal pads, and properly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads in case of poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
  • Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for the new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check for free wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
