Brake compound

The ULIP Superior Metal compound combines metallic ingredients with a binder. Metallic pads generally handle heat well during repetitive braking, but they can be noisier and cause more disc wear than organic pads. Use a disc that is compatible with metallic pads and properly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads if braking performance decreases, wear is uneven, or they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in your brake manual.
• Remove the safety clip and the old pair. Prepare the space for the new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety clip. Do not grease friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel spin and brake lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual stops in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
