Brake compound

The ULIP Superior Metal multi-metallic compound combines metallic components and a binder. Metallic linings generally handle heat well during repetitive braking but can be louder and wear the disc more than organic ones. Use a disc that allows metal linings, and properly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads in case of poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manufacturer's manual.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. After following the procedure for your specific caliper, prepare space for the new pads, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check wheel free rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
